2022 Preseason Football Poll: Alabama, Ohio State headline Top 25

The Student Media Poll 2022 Preseason Football Top 25 has officially released, with last season’s national runner-up, Alabama, topping the rankings for a second-consecutive preseason. Ohio State follows closely behind at No. 2 and defending champions Georgia round out the top three.

In total, 105 ballots were cast by SMP voters and 66 teams received at least one vote in the 2022 season’s inaugural rankings. Of those 66 teams, North Dakota State is the first Football Championship Subdivision team to receive a vote in an SMP football ranking.
